This is the home where I basically grew up. The home was brand new
when my parents bought it in early 1948. My dad bought the home approximately 2 years after arriving home from World
War II. He served in the South Pacific Theater. The home was bought through a government program for surviving
vets and the cost of the home was $8,900.00 and was 2 bedrooms, one bath, a living room and dining room with a small kitchen.
A Carport and utility room was also included in the purchase price. If you are trying to determine which home was the
one I grew up in, it has a yellowish paint with a rather dark brown tile roof. The house on the left is pink and the
home one the right is a tan-brownish color. The drive way is circular.
Father's side of the family:
Rather than going way back before our first relative came to America, I thought it best to
begin with our way back great Grandfather John Nation (3-28-1697). John was born in North Petherton, Somerst,
England on March 18,1697. John wanted to come to America and became a white slave boy in order to make the trip.
John arrived before 1720 but the exact date is unknown. In 1720 John married Bethiah Robins (1701) in Momouth, New Jersey.
John and Bethiah had 7 children. The child named Christopher Nations (1721) grew up and married Elizabeth Swaim
(1722). Christopher and Elizabeth had 4 children. The child named Abraham Nations (Abt 1742) grew up and married
Rebecca (DOB is unknown). Rebecca was a Cherokee Indian. Abraham and Rebecca had a child named Mary Nations (5-1-1794).
Mary grew up and married James B. Massey (1782) in or near 1810. Mary and James had a child named Laura Massey (7-9-1833).
Laura married a man named Henry Kelley Byars (6-5-1829) . Laura and Henry had 13 children. James and Laura had
a child named James Nathan Byars (10-7-1853). James grew up and married Jenney Winifred Bailey (5-9-1845). James
and Jenney had a child named Sallie Byars (12-9-1877). Sallie (my grandmother) grew up and married Edward Louis Parker
(1-27-1877) (my grandfather) and that relationship gave birth to Edward Louis Parker, Sr. (my father) (2-21-1916) grew up
and married Mary A. Albang (my mother) (8-11-1905). My parents went home to be with the Lord. My Mom arrived on
07-28-1984 and my Dad arrived on (04-25-1995). That relationship gave birth to Edward Louis Parker, Jr. (12-13-1939)
(me). Edward Jr. married Mary Elaine Moody (12-16-1948). That relationship gave birth to Tammy (6-29-1968), Edward
III (7-2-1969) and Christopher (3-3-1977). Tammy grew up and married Kevin W. Freeman (12-19-1969) and that relationship
gave birth to Amber (12-18-1987) and Ashley (3-23-1989)(single). Amber married Matthew Davis and that relationship gave
birth to Colton Paul Davis (5-4-2009). Edward III grew up and married Serena Cannon (4-17-1971) and that relationship
gave birth to Joshua (6-11-1995) and Sarah (3-1-1997) (both single). Edward remarried to Grace Fink (4-25-1968) and
that relationship gave birth to Danilo Christopher Parker (11-30-07). Christopher never married and remained single
primarily due to birth defects from Spina Bifida and went home and arrived in Heaven on 11-28-2007 whole and free of any birth
defects. Before 11-28-2007 Chris was confined to a wheel chair for mobility. He now walks the by-ways of
Heaven on his own two legs. Thanks be to God for his kindness and salvation.
The family had several relatives that were rather well known to history: Martha Washington
(the wife of George), General Robert E. Lee, President Zachery Taylor and salon destroyer Carrie Nations by marriage.
Mother's side is not well known due to
being born in Germany and immigration to America. I wait to find data on my mother and her family. Perhaps the
data will be available soon.
